Professional face painting pricing depends on the event size, duration, and travel distance. Most events are booked by the hour, with rates varying based on location (Berkeley Springs, Cumberland, Washington DC metro, Northern Virginia, and Southwestern Pennsylvania) and the number of guests. Typically, $125 per hour or less. *travel fee may apply

How many children can you paint in one hour?

The artist can typically paint 10–15 children per hour, depending on the design complexity and line management. For large events 4+ hours, ask for our "speed painting" option for 1-2min. simpler designs allowing for faster turnaround. Line manager must be provided for speed painting. I always require a minimum booking of 2 hours.

How far in advance should I book a face painter?

Accepted Answer

It’s best to book 2–3 months in advance for birthday parties and 3–6 months in advance for large corporate or seasonal events. Spring, summer, and fall weekends fill quickly in the D.C. and surrounding metro areas. But, please, always reach out no matter how close your event is to check availability and booking. I only require a $50 deposit to secure your event date on my calendar.

For birthday parties with 10–15 children, 2 hours is the minimum and usually sufficient. Corporate events and festivals may require multiple hours or multiple artists to accommodate larger guest counts.

Yes. Each year, I donate face painting services to up to 4 nonprofit or community events that I personally choose to support. These sponsored events are selected based on alignment, community impact, and availability.
 
I use professional, cosmetic-grade face paints and high-quality materials to ensure vibrant results and safe application. Because supplies, preparation time, and travel all carry real costs, private parties and most public events are booked as paid services.
 
Organizations seeking to offer free face painting at their event may consider securing a business sponsor to cover the cost as part of their community outreach or promotional efforts. Sponsored face painting is a popular way for local businesses to support family-friendly events, while receiving positive visibility.
